USARenton Senior Activity Center to Close Temporarily for Major Upgrades

The City of Renton Parks and Recreation has announced the temporary closure of the Don Persson Renton Senior Activity Center as part of a planned improvement project aimed at enhancing safety, comfort, and overall visitor experience.

The closure will begin on April 15, 2026, and is expected to continue through mid-September. During this period, renovations and upgrades will be carried out to modernize the facility and better serve the community.

Despite the closure, officials confirmed that many popular senior programs and activities will continue at alternate locations, including the Renton Community Center. The department emphasized its commitment to keeping residents active, connected, and engaged while the work is underway.

Community members have been thanked for their patience and support, with officials expressing enthusiasm about reopening the improved center later this fall.
