SEATTLE, WA — The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) issued a traffic advisory Thursday after roadwork crews began operations on the westbound side of the West Seattle Bridge, partially blocking the left shoulder at the mid-span.
A traffic camera image released by SDOT shows work vehicles and personnel positioned on the elevated bridge section, with lane arrows and caution signage directing drivers around the obstruction. Traffic continued to flow but appeared moderately congested as vehicles merged away from the work zone.
SDOT is urging drivers to slow down, stay alert, and use extra caution when passing through the area. No lane closures were reported, though the blocked shoulder may cause brief delays during peak travel periods.
The agency did not specify how long the roadwork will last, but motorists are encouraged to monitor SDOT Traffic updates for real-time conditions.
