A Lucknow court has imposed a fine of Rs 200 on Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. This action was taken due to non-appearance in court. The matter is related to the statement given on Veer Savarkar. Rahul Gandhi was not present in the court during the hearing.
The court has clearly said that if Rahul Gandhi does not appear on April 14, legal action can be taken. This matter is related to the statement given in Akola (Maharashtra). In the press conference, Rahul Gandhi had made controversial remarks about Veer Savarkar. He had said that Savarkar was a servant of the British and used to take pension.
Advocate Pranshu Aggarwal appeared in the court on behalf of Rahul Gandhi. He filed a petition for exemption from appearance. During the hearing, complainant lawyer Nripendra Pandey said that summons were sent to Rahul Gandhi several times, but he was not appearing again and again. Therefore the court should take strict action against them.
