As soon as the session of Jammu Kashmir Assembly began, uproar started. The MLAs of National Conference demanded to bring an adjournment motion against the Waqf Bill. When the Speaker did not give permission, the MLAs of the ruling party once again got up from their seats and reached the bell of the House.
BJP MLAs welcomed the speaker’s order by sitting on their seats and thumping the tables. National Conference MLAs raised slogans of ‘Wakf Bill Namanzoor, Wakf Bill Namanzoor’. The National Conference MLAs insisted on bringing their proposal on the Wakf Bill in the House. On this, the BJP members also stood up from their seats and started making noise. Waving papers and books in their hands, they told the Speaker that this is Question Hour, how can you allow discussion on other topics.
The speaker said, “All of you sit quietly, I know what I have to do” but the uproar did not stop. In the noise, Tanveer Sadiq and Sunil Sharma were heard saying something to each other. Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather adjourned the House for 15 minutes.
