BELLEVUE, Wash. — The City of Bellevue Transportation Department has announced the temporary closure of SE 26th Street and Kamber Road, between Richards Road and 134th Avenue SE, due to standing water following recent rainfall.
According to officials, the roadway will remain closed until the water fully recedes from the area. Drivers are urged to follow posted detour signs and avoid traveling through flooded sections of roadway, as doing so can pose serious safety risks.
City staff emphasized an important reminder: never drive through standing water, even if it appears shallow. Flooded roads can hide hazards, cause vehicles to stall, or sweep them off course.
Motorists traveling near Richards Road, Kamber Road, and 134th Avenue SE should plan for delays and seek alternative routes. Maintenance crews are monitoring conditions and will reopen the roadway as soon as it is deemed safe.
Residents can stay updated on road conditions and emergency notices by following the City of Bellevue Transportation Department on their official communication channels.
