Seattle — Seattle police are investigating a shooting that injured a 42-year-old woman in the High Point neighborhood late Tuesday night.
On January 14, around 11:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 6500 block of Sylvan Way Southwest. Upon arrival, they found a woman shot in her arm. She received immediate treatment from police and firefighters and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) responded to process the scene and interview the victim. Police said multiple suspects fired at the victim’s vehicle, hitting her inside. Additional vehicles and at least one occupied home were also struck by gunfire, with approximately 60 rounds fired.
The suspects fled in a vehicle before police arrived, and no arrests have been made. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
