USASeattle Officials Urge Fans to Celebrate Safely Ahead of Super Sunday Rematch

SEATTLE — With the Seahawks set to return to Super Sunday for the first time in a decade, city officials are reminding fans to celebrate responsibly as excitement builds across the region.

Ahead of the big game this weekend, authorities encouraged fans attending watch parties or gatherings to plan ahead, particularly when it comes to transportation. Designated drivers, rideshares, and taxis are strongly recommended, as law enforcement will be conducting DUI emphasis patrols throughout the day Sunday to help keep roadways safe.

Seattle police say additional patrols will also be deployed in busy entertainment districts where large watch parties are expected. Officers will be present to assist the public and ensure celebrations remain safe and enjoyable.

Officials urged fans to look out for one another, keep drinks attended, and ensure mobile phones are charged to stay connected during the festivities. Those feeling unwell or needing assistance are encouraged to approach officers for help.

Pedestrian safety is also a focus, especially following the game. With increased traffic and heightened excitement, fans are reminded to obey traffic laws, avoid distractions like mobile phones while crossing streets, and remain alert.

Authorities also issued a specific reminder referencing past celebrations: fans are asked not to climb the historic Pioneer Square pergola, citing safety concerns and the high cost of repairs.

City officials say they hope fans enjoy the game, celebrate loudly, and return home safely.
