Seattle, WA — November 11, 2025

The Seattle Police Department (SPD) marked Veterans Day with a heartfelt message recognizing the service and sacrifice of military veterans — including those who now serve in law enforcement.

In a statement shared by SPD leadership, the department expressed deep gratitude to the men and women who have worn the nation’s uniform, highlighting their continued commitment to the Seattle community.

“To those of you who are veterans — and who continue to serve our community with the same integrity, dedication, honor, and courage — thank you,” the message read. “Your service to both our nation and the City of Seattle inspires us all.”

The message also included a personal reflection from an SPD leader, who shared memories of serving as a U.S. Marine Reservist in the 1990s, noting that the experience instilled lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and dedication that continue to influence his public service today.

The department emphasized the values of leadership, discipline, and duty that veterans bring to the force, strengthening both the SPD and the city it serves.

“We are proud to serve alongside each of you,” the statement concluded. “Thank you for your service and for protecting the freedoms we all cherish.”
