SEATTLE, WA — Detectives with the Seattle Police Department (SPD) are asking for the public’s assistance in solving a fatal shooting that occurred in South Seattle on the afternoon of October 20, 2025, resulting in the death of 37-year-old Zachary Raymond-Becker.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting along the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trail, near Dr. Jose Rizal Park, just southwest of Golf Drive South and South Charles Street. The location is close to the interchange of Interstate 90 and Interstate 5 in South Seattle.
Upon arrival, police found Raymond-Becker with a gunshot wound to the head. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers also discovered a small fire that had been set near the edge of the trail, close to where the victim was located.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under active investigation, and detectives are seeking any information that may help identify the suspect or suspects involved.
