Seattle, WA — Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday morning in South Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood following a reported altercation.
At approximately 10:54 a.m., Seattle police patrol officers responded to reports of a man brandishing a weapon and possible gunfire near 35th Avenue South and South Findlay Street. When officers arrived, all individuals involved had already fled the scene.
Roughly an hour later, deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Office located a victim in White Center suffering from a graze gunshot wound to the head. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
Police returned to the initial location and discovered evidence of a shooting, including damage to a nearby recreational vehicle (RV). Investigators determined that an argument between multiple individuals escalated, leading to the suspect firing a weapon. The gunfire struck both the RV and the victim.
The suspect fled before officers arrived and remains at large. Authorities have not yet released a description.
The case is currently under investigation, and detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will take over. Officials are urging anyone with information to contact the tip line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips are accepted.
