Renton, WA – September 26, 2025 – Drivers traveling through Renton should prepare for a weekend closure of southbound Interstate 405 as part of the Washington State Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT) I-405 widening project.
According to WSDOT, southbound I-405 will be closed from North Southport Drive/Sunset Boulevard Northeast to SR-167 beginning at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 26, through 4:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29.
Detour Information
During the closure, traffic will be redirected onto alternate routes, including local streets and designated detours marked by WSDOT. Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time, use caution in detour areas, and consider alternate routes to avoid delays.
