USASR 167 Closed Between Kent and Auburn Due to Flooding

Both directions of State Route 167 between Kent and Auburn have been closed after water flooded the roadway, according to the City of Kent Government. The closure impacts the stretch from South 212th Street (milepost 22) in Kent to 15th Street Northwest (milepost 16) in Auburn, covering approximately six miles.

Several on-ramps are also closed due to the flooding, including southbound SR 167 ramps from South 212th Street, 84th Avenue South/Central Avenue North, and SR 516, as well as northbound ramps from SR 18, 15th Street Northwest, and South 277th Street.

Officials said there is no estimated time for reopening, as crews are working with local jurisdictions and will reassess conditions during daylight hours. Drivers are strongly urged to use alternate routes and avoid flooded areas.

Authorities reminded the public not to drive, walk, or wade through floodwaters and to obey all posted road closures, emphasizing the safety message: “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.” Residents can sign up for traffic updates through Drive Kent alerts for the latest information.
