USATeen Arrested After Capitol Hill Shooting and Attempted Carjacking

Seattle, WA | February 28, 2026 — A 16-year-old boy has been arrested following an early morning shooting at a pizza parlor and an attempted carjacking in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, according to the Seattle Police Department.

Officers responded around 1:40 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 1400 block of 11th Avenue. Upon arrival, police found a pizza shop riddled with bullet holes. Witnesses reported that a security guard had escorted an intoxicated teen out of the business after he was reportedly drinking inside, allegedly using a fake ID.

Authorities say security personnel walked the teen to a nearby Maserati parked outside the establishment. As the vehicle drove away, the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds through the back passenger window toward security staff who remained on the sidewalk. Surveillance video captured the gunfire, showing several people running and ducking to avoid being struck.

Although no one was hit by gunfire, several employees and patrons sustained minor injuries from shattered glass.

Responding officers later located the unoccupied Maserati nearby with visible bullet damage and shell casings inside. The vehicle was impounded as evidence.

While officers were processing the scene, they spotted the teen returning to the area. He fled upon seeing police but tripped and fell, leading to his arrest.

Shortly after, a rideshare driver reported that the same teen had attempted to steal his vehicle at gunpoint. The driver managed to escape unharmed.

Police recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting during a search of the area.

The teen was arrested for felony assault and robbery and transported to juvenile detention. However, officials said he was too intoxicated to be booked immediately and required medical evaluation. After being discharged from the hospital, he was booked into juvenile detention. Detectives say additional weapons charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
