‘There may be differences, but conflict is not necessary’,Jaishankar said – ‘no one benefits from tension’

POLITICS & LAWS'There may be differences, but conflict is not necessary',Jaishankar said – 'no one benefits from tension'

India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said that India and China are trying to improve their relations again. Strained relations are not beneficial for anyone. What happened in the Galwan Valley in 2020 was not the way to resolve issues.

Jaishankar attended an interactive session of the think tank Asia Society on Wednesday. The Foreign Minister said that we know that there may be differences between India and China in the future, but they can be resolved in another way without getting into conflict.

Referring to the clashes in the Galwan Valley, the Foreign Minister said that what happened in 2020 was indeed very painful. It was not just a conflict, but written agreements were ignored. It is not that the issue is completely over, we are still dealing with some parts related to this incident.

The Foreign Minister said that we compete on many issues, but we should not fight for this. Tense relations between the two countries do not serve the interests of any party, because if peace is disturbed near the border, then other relations cannot function properly.
