Tukwila Mayor has invited residents to attend the second annual State of the City address on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Foster High School Performing Arts Center. The event is designed to provide an overview of the city’s progress, future priorities, and opportunities for continued collaboration with the community.
Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 6:00 p.m. In addition to the mayor’s address, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a community resource fair featuring a range of government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses. These participants will offer services, information, and resources relevant to Tukwila residents.
City staff from all departments will also be present to answer questions and interact directly with community members, creating an open forum for dialogue and engagement. The event emphasizes accessibility and aims to strengthen connections between residents and local government.
A key focus of the gathering is fostering community connection in a face-to-face setting. The mayor highlighted the importance of “third places”—shared spaces such as libraries, community centers, and local gathering spots—where residents can build relationships and a sense of belonging. The State of the City event is intended to serve as one such space, encouraging interaction beyond digital communication.
Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in this opportunity to learn more about Tukwila’s direction while connecting with neighbors, city leaders, and community organizations.
