Two Injured in Shooting in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District

Police are investigating a shooting in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District that left two young men seriously injured Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 4:10 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 600 block of South Jackson Street. When they arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to the torso and arm, and a 19-year-old man suffering injuries to his hand and ankle.

Officers provided immediate aid until medics transported both victims to Harborview Medical Center, where they remain in serious condition.

According to investigators, the victims were walking eastbound on the sidewalk when a sedan pulled up beside them. An altercation occurred, and someone inside the vehicle opened fire before fleeing eastbound on South Jackson Street.

Detectives with the Seattle Police Department Gun Violence Reduction Unit are actively investigating the incident and working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.
