The Kent Police Department has welcomed two newly graduated officers, both of whom share a special local connection—they are Kentridge High School alumni.
The department announced that Officers K. Jefferies and G. Gadhri officially completed their training at the Criminal Justice Training Commission Police Academy. Since both officers grew up in Kent and attended Kentridge, the department highlighted their hometown roots and enthusiasm for serving the community that raised them.
Officer K. Jefferies, a 2020 Kentridge graduate, has spent the past several years working in construction, demolition, and remodeling throughout the greater Seattle area. Outside of work, he enjoys jet skiing, boating, hiking, snowboarding, and barbecuing with friends.
Officer G. Gadhri, originally born in Surrey, BC, moved to Kent at a young age and graduated from Kentridge in 2018. He recently earned his bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University in 2024. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, hikes, developing apps, and teaching Gatka—a Sikh martial art—at his local gurdwara.
The department added a lighthearted note, suggesting that the pair may also enjoy cheering on KR sports in their downtime—possibly alongside the department’s mascot, Charlie the Charger.
The announcement included a photo of Assistant Chiefs Grove and Hemmen, the two new officers, and Chief Padilla, marking the celebration of the department’s newest graduates as they prepare to begin their service to the Kent community.
