British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has agreed to work on a ceasefire plan in Britain, France and Ukraine, which will be presented to the US.
Starmer said the plan emerged following talks between the leaders of the four countries following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s confrontation with US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
The Prime Minister explained that he believed the US President wanted lasting peace in Ukraine. He reiterated his claim that maintaining it would require US security guarantees. Starmer is hosting a summit of European leaders in London on Sunday to discuss Ukraine.
Sunday’s summit of European leaders was eclipsed by US President Donald Trump’s extraordinary rebuke at the White House on Friday to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for being ungrateful for US support.
