Taking forward the Sabka Sath-Sabka Vikas vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Power Minister Manohar Lal expressed his commitment towards the development of the state by setting up a new power plant in Odisha and appreciating the implementation of central projects.
Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal, who was on a visit to Odisha, reviewed the power and urban affairs schemes of the state in Bhubaneswar along with Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo and other senior officials. The Union Energy Minister visited Lord Jagannath in Puri and duly performed the Puja.
During the review meeting, the Union Power Minister assessed the current status of the power and urban affairs sectors in the state. Also, the Union Minister appreciated the performance for effective implementation of various schemes of the Central Government in the urban and power sectors.
The Union Minister said that Odisha has abundant coal reserves, there is a huge potential for setting up new power plants in the state. This is a golden opportunity for private investors and states to set up plants at the pithead. This is likely to increase the state’s revenue significantly.
