Seattle, WA — October 21, 2025:
The University Bridge has officially reopened to traffic as of 11:06 a.m., according to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT). The announcement was made via the department’s official social media account, @SDOTbridges.
The reopening restores a key transportation link across Portage Bay, connecting the University District and Eastlake neighborhoods. SDOT did not immediately specify the reason for the closure, but bridge operations are now back to normal.
Motorists are advised to expect some residual congestion as traffic flow returns to regular patterns.
