After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, America on Thursday issued an advisory for its citizens. In this advisory, America has advised its citizens not to visit Jammu and Kashmir.
In the advisory, American citizens have been advised to stay away from the Kashmir Valley including Pahalgam and keep an eye on the local media.
The advisory issued on the official website of the US Embassy and Consulates in India said, ‘Terrorist attacks and violent civil unrest are possible in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.’
The advisory says that except for the visit to eastern Ladakh and Ladakh’s capital Let, do not travel to Jammu and Kashmir. There is sporadic violence in this area. Such violence is common along the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan. This violence also takes place in the tourist places of Kashmir Valley like Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam. The Indian government does not allow foreign tourists to visit some areas along the LoC.
