The breaking of the glacier has caused a massive avalanche in Mana, Uttarakhand. Due to which the BRO camp has been damaged. About 57 laborers were present in the BRO camp. Out of which 32 have been evacuated safely. Rescue work was done by Army and ITBP.
Gangotri National Highway in Uttarkashi has been closed near Dabrani due to avalanche and debris. Due to continuous rain between Gangnani and Dabrani, stones are falling from the hills. As soon as the weather conditions improve, the high-altitude rescue team of SDRF will be airlifted to the nearest available location. Coordination is being done by SDRF and district administration with BRO and Army.
Home Minister Amit Shah expressed grief over the incident. He said that he spoke to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, DG ITBP and DG NDRF regarding the glacier burst in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. Our priority is to rescue the people trapped in the accident.
