Kent, WA – A robbery suspect accused of pulling a gun on a woman during an online marketplace transaction has been arrested following a lengthy investigation by the Kent Police Department and Valley SWAT.
According to police, the incident occurred on March 10, 2026, when a Seattle woman arranged to meet a buyer in an apartment parking lot after advertising an item for sale on social media. During the meeting, the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm, stole the item, and fired several rounds before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Patrol officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect immediately. The case was later assigned to Detective Doucette, who followed investigative leads, including social media information, to identify the suspect and establish probable cause for charges of robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Due to the suspect’s alleged use of a firearm during the crime, Valley SWAT was called in to assist with the arrest operation. In the early morning hours of June 9, SWAT officers attempted to contact the suspect at his residence using phone calls and public address announcements. After repeated efforts received no response, officers breached the door. The suspect then surrendered without further incident and was taken into custody.
Police praised both Valley SWAT and Detective Doucette for their work in bringing the suspect into custody and helping ensure community safety.
