During the discussion on the Wakf Amendment Bill, Congress Party MP Naseer Hussain said that the Wakf Amendment Bill is against Muslims. None of the recommendations made by the opposition members in the JPC were included in the Wakf Amendment Bill.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday accused the opposition in the Lok Sabha of threatening not to accept the proposed law on Waqf, but said it will be a law passed by Parliament and everyone will have to accept it. He said that for vote bank politics, fear is being spread that the Waqf Bill is an interference in the religious matters of Muslims and the properties donated by them.

PM Modi further said that this will especially help those who have been marginalized for a long time and have been deprived of both voice and opportunity.
