The Bellevue Police Department has announced a community initiative aimed at reducing vehicle theft by distributing free steering wheel locks to residents.
According to officials, the giveaway event will take place on Saturday, April 11. Residents can visit either the Crossroads or Factoria substations between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to receive a complimentary steering wheel lock.
Police emphasized that steering wheel locks are a simple yet effective tool in deterring auto theft, as they make it significantly harder for thieves to operate a vehicle. The department encourages community members to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their vehicle security.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by Bellevue Police to address rising concerns over vehicle theft and promote proactive safety measures within the community.
