A 77-year-old man was seriously injured following an unprovoked assault in downtown Seattle late Sunday night, prompting the arrest of one suspect and an ongoing search for another.
According to Seattle police, the incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. on April 19 near 3rd Avenue and Pine Street. Responding officers found the victim suffering from a head injury and a possible broken arm. Emergency crews from the Seattle Fire Department provided treatment at the scene before transporting the man to a VA hospital for further care.
Witnesses reported that two individuals attacked the victim without provocation, knocking him to the ground before walking away. Surveillance footage reviewed by the department’s Real Time Crime Center confirmed the sequence of events.
Officers quickly located and arrested a 29-year-old suspect nearby. He was booked into King County Jail on felony assault charges. Authorities are still searching for a second suspect involved in the нападение.
