Drivers in Kent should prepare for minor delays as city officials have announced a temporary lane closure on West Smith Street.
According to Public Works, the inside lane on W Smith Street just east of the intersection with 2nd Avenue North will be closed on May 4–5, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day. The closure is necessary to allow crews to carry out a manhole replacement project.
Motorists traveling through the area are advised to plan ahead, expect possible slowdowns, and use caution around work crews.
