Kent, WA — September 25, 2026 — The Kent Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating a fatal vehicle collision that occurred Friday morning on Military Road, just south of Kent Des Moines Road.
According to the Kent Police Department, officers, Puget Sound Fire and Medic One were dispatched at approximately 8:48 a.m. after receiving a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a fence.
When emergency crews arrived, Puget Sound Fire extricated the driver from the vehicle. The driver, a 37-year-old Kent man, suffered life-ending injuries in the crash.
An adult passenger was also inside the vehicle but was not injured.
Police said the passenger reported that the vehicle was traveling downhill toward the Kent Des Moines Road intersection when the driver commented that the brakes were not working. The driver then veered away from stopped vehicles at the bottom of the hill, causing the vehicle to crash into a fence.
The Kent Police Traffic Unit responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Police said that, at this time, the evidence gathered does not indicate that intoxication was a factor in the crash.
