Former US Attorney Jessica Eber was found dead in her home. She served in the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA). According to police, she was found unconscious when officers arrived at her home after receiving an emergency call at 9:18 a.m. Saturday. She was later confirmed dead at the scene.
Jessica Eber was just 43 years old and resigned from her post in January, a day after Donald Trump took office as President. Police have not yet suspected foul play, but the circumstances of her death are under investigation. The Virginia legal community and his colleagues are deeply saddened by his demise.
Current U.S. Attorney Eric Siebert said, “We are devastated by the passing of our friend and former colleague Jessica Eber. She was an exceptional leader, mentor and prosecutor. Her legal acumen and professionalism were exemplary.”
Siebert added, “Although this is a great loss for us, we will try to keep her legacy alive. Jessica was a proud Virginian and was greatly loved by this community. We will continue her mission of seeking justice, just as she would have wanted.”
