The biggest protests against President Erdogan are continuing in Turkey after the arrest of Istanbul mayor and opposition leader Ekrem Imamoğlu. 1,133 protesters have been detained in the last 5 days.
Turkish Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that spreading terror on our streets and endangering the peace and security of our country will not be tolerated at all.
There have been clashes between police and protesters at many places. Protesters are raising anti-government slogans on the streets, university and metro stations. Many roads and metro lines have also been closed.
The government has banned public gatherings for four days in Istanbul, the country’s largest city.
