Israel attacked Syrian air force bases and infrastructure on Thursday. During this, Israeli fighter jets and missiles targeted the Syrian capital Damascus, Hama and Homs cities.
In the attack, Hama airbase has been completely destroyed and a dozen people have been injured. Israel has been carrying out air strikes on Syria for the past several years. During the rule of Bashar al-Assad, Israel had accused Syria of being a link between Iran and Hezbollah.
Weapons and other materials from Iran pass through Syria to reach Hezbollah in Lebanon to be used against Israel. But even after the fall of Assad’s government on December 24 and the destruction of Hezbollah in Lebanon to a large extent, Israeli attacks in Syria continue.
