SPORTS & BUSINESSMohsin Naqvi becomes chairman of Asian Cricket Council: will replace Sri Lanka's Shammi Silva

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Naqvi will replace Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva. Naqvi will remain in this position for 2 years.

ACC held an online annual meeting on Thursday. After which changes in the leadership were announced. This year the T20 Asia Cup is also scheduled to be held in September.
The first big challenge for Mohsin Naqvi as ACC chairman will be this year’s Men’s Asia Cup. The tournament was to be hosted by India in September. However, now due to political relations between India and Pakistan, the tournament will be played at a neutral venue.

ACC released an official statement after the meeting on Thursday and said, Pakistan has defeated Sri Lanka and assumed the post of President of ACC. Pakistan will now work to promote cricket in Asia. With the help of Pakistan, efforts will be made to take cricket in Asia in a new direction.
