Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Colombo on Friday evening on a three-day visit to hold talks with Sri Lanka to enhance bilateral ties, especially cooperation in the areas of energy, trade, connectivity, digitalisation and defence.
Despite the rain, six top ministers of the Sri Lankan government were present at the airport to welcome Modi. These included Foreign Minister Vijitha Herat, Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa, Labor Minister Anil Jayantha and Fisheries Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekhar. The Prime Minister reached the Sri Lankan capital after completing his visit to Bangkok.
