US President Donald Trump’s tariff policy has put the global economy in danger of recession. Trump’s policies are being criticized everywhere. Meanwhile, the Trump administration has claimed that after imposing tariffs, more than 50 countries want to hold trade talks with the US.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant says more than 50 countries have begun negotiations with the US since the tariff announcement last Wednesday. Speaking on NBC News’ “Meet the Press”, Bessant said Trump has “maximised” the deal.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is engaged in talks with the US. He said that during a meeting with Trump on Monday, he will demand relief from the 17 percent tariff imposed on Israeli goods. India is also engaged in talks with the US. Both countries want to find a middle ground. An Indian official told Reuters that the country is not planning to retaliate against the 26 percent tariff. Talks are ongoing with the US on a deal.
Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te spoke to Trump on Sunday. He is in favor of making zero tariff the basis. Lai has assured that all obstacles will be removed. Taiwanese companies will increase their investment in America.
