The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has imposed a fine of 25 per cent of his match fee and a demerit point on Gujarat Titans bowler Ishant Sharma for violating IPL rules.

This action against Ishant Sharma took place during the match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Ishant Sharma has been found guilty under Article 2.2. He has accepted his mistake. The IPL statement said: “Ishant Sharma accepted the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the Cricket Association of India (CAI) and accepted the decision of the Match Referee.”

Ishant Sharma did not get any wicket in the match against Hyderabad. He gave 53 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 13.25. His over contained 9 fours and 1 six. Due to this, he looked angry with himself and kicked the stumps in anger.
