Heavy rain and lightning-storms were witnessed in the states of North India including UP-Bihar on Thursday. 13 people have died in UP in the last 24 hours. Due to lightning and storm, 6 people died in Ayodhya, 5 in Barabanki, 1 each in Amethi and Basti. There is a rain alert in 37 districts of UP today.
Apart from this, 2 people died in Himachal Pradesh and 1 in West Bengal due to lightning. The Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm alert in 24 states for the second consecutive day. There is an orange alert for heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.
Here, there is a warning of heat wave and dust storm in 9 districts of Rajasthan today. Yesterday, the mercury in Bikaner and Barmer was 45.1 and 45 degrees Celsius. However, after 24 hours, the temperature is expected to drop by 2-4 degrees.
