Five countries including Britain imposed sanctions on two Israeli ministers

NATIONALFive countries including Britain imposed sanctions on two Israeli ministers

Five countries of the world have imposed sanctions on two Israeli ministers. These countries are Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Norway. The Israeli ministers who have been banned are Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.

The ban on these far-right ministers was announced on Tuesday. Ben-Gvir and Smotrich have been banned for inciting violence against Palestinians in the West Bank. These ministers will no longer be able to travel to these five countries. Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Norway are countries that are generally considered to be in the US and Israel camp. All five countries have shown support for Israel on several occasions. Despite this, these ministers have been banned.

The reason behind this is believed to be Israel’s aggressive policy in Gaza. Both the banned ministers are supporters of expanding Israeli settlements in the West Bank. In the recent past, they have constantly incited violence against Palestinians. At least 17 Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in Israeli fire near an aid distribution site of a US-backed humanitarian group in central Gaza. The injured were rushed to Al-Awda Hospital in Gaza’s Nusrat Camp and Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City.

The Israeli military said warning shots were fired at suspects who were moving into Gaza territory and posing a threat to troops. Last week, he warned Palestinians not to travel on routes leading to US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) sites between 6pm and 6am. These routes were called closed military zones. Meanwhile, the Israeli Navy on Tuesday attacked a post in the rebel-held port city of Hodeida in Yemen.
