Following the AI-171 plane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered additional pre-flight checks on all Boeing Dreamliner aircraft operating in India. The implementation of these orders issued on Friday has begun. Within the first 24 hours, Air India has completed the testing of nine Dreamliner planes based on the said order. The testing of 24 is still pending.

While giving this information, Air India has also cautioned customers that due to the new test, there may be delays in flight services. Along with this, customers have been assured that in case of disruption in flights, if the ticket is cancelled, their money will be refunded as per rules.

Air India has said that, ‘As per the new order of DGCA, the regulatory agency of the aviation sector, the process of one-time testing of aircraft has been started. As Boeing-787 aircraft are coming from abroad, they are being tested as per the new order before their next flights. Nine aircraft of the Boeing-787 category have been checked.He said that ‘Preparations are on to test the remaining 24 aircraft as well. This will be completed within the stipulated period as per the instructions of the regulatory agency.

Due to this, some flights may get delayed. Customers will be informed about this in time. Customers are requested to get information about the status of their flights in advance before leaving for the airport.
