Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Maldives for his two-day visit after visiting Britain. During this, PM Modi will attend the 60th Independence Day celebrations of Maldives as the chief guest. India and Maldives have signed several agreements in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maldives President Mohammed Muizzu. The Indian government has provided 72 heavy vehicles to the Maldives Defense Ministry.

Reduction in annual debt service obligations of Maldives on Government of India funded LOC.
Launch of India-Maldives Free Trade Agreement (IMFTA) negotiations.
Release of joint commemorative postage stamp on the 60th anniversary of establishment of India-Maldives diplomatic relations.
Handing over of 3300 social housing units at Hulhumale under India’s buyer’s credit facilities.
Inauguration of road and drainage system project at Addu town.
Inauguration of 6 High Impact Community Development Projects in Maldives.
