MEET NEET GREWAL — ACTIVIST, COMMUNITY LEADER, AND CANDIDATE FOR KENT CITY COUNCIL

Slogan: “Clean Up Kent”

Neet Grewal is more than just a name on the ballot she is a lifelong resident of Western Washington, a committed activist, and a candidate for Kent City Council running under the bold slogan “Clean Up Kent.” Born and raised locally, Neet is the proud daughter of two Boeing engineers, with her passion for public service inspired early on by her late father’s deep community political involvement, which remains her greatest motivation to this day. A graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Political Science, she wasted no time putting her education into action, working tirelessly on countless local, state, and national initiatives to bring meaningful change to the people she serves. Neet knows Kent because she has lived Kent — she understands the values, challenges, and aspirations of its residents, and she is ready to restore common sense and deliver results. Beyond politics, Neet enjoys walking her chocolate lab, swimming in Lake Washington or saltwater oceans when on vacation, exploring the outdoors on ATVs, composing music as a first soprano, and supporting the theater arts, embodying the balance between hard work and creative spirit. Her platform is driven by five key priorities: public safety, solving homelessness and drug abuse, boosting the local economy, strengthening democratic representation, and protecting family values. On public safety, Neet refuses to accept that Kent must endure rising crime while a third of its officers have left due to lack of leadership support; for 14 straight years, the city has had the lowest officer-to-resident ratio in the region — 51% below the national average — while burglaries per capita remain high. She will fight to restore adequate staffing, back law enforcement, and enforce laws to protect families. On homelessness and drug addiction, she rejects the city’s failed cycle of throwing millions of taxpayer dollars at programs with little to show for it, instead proposing a public-private partnership focused on measurable recovery and independence rather than enabling destructive cycles. On the economy, Neet is committed to revitalizing Kent by championing small business incentives, slashing red tape in permits, introducing a Strategic Crypto Reserve to keep the city financially innovative, and closing the Streamlined Sales Tax loophole that has robbed Kent of revenue for years, using those funds to repair roads and rebuild infrastructure.

On representation, Neet has already proven her dedication to fairness by helping lead the successful effort to create single-member districts in Kent so every neighborhood has a voice. She firmly believes in term limits, pledging to serve no more than two terms because “eight years is enough” to deliver fresh leadership and prevent entrenched politics — a stark contrast to her opponent seeking a third term after 12 years in office. On family values, Neet is committed to giving Kent’s children the best chance to succeed by keeping school curriculums competitive with neighboring Bellevue and Seattle, funding robust extracurricular programs in sports, arts, and technology, and boosting college acceptance rates, while ensuring that all families, regardless of faith or background, are represented with respect and opportunity. Neet’s campaign is not just about policies it is about people. She is consistently out in the community, hosting forums, surveying residents, listening to concerns, and acting. She believes leadership starts with listening, and she will bring the same dedication to the council table that she brings to every conversation with a neighbor. Her vision for “Clean Up Kent” extends beyond crime reduction and infrastructure repair it means restoring trust in government, revitalizing the city’s spirit, creating real economic opportunities, and ensuring Kent is a place where families feel safe, businesses can thrive, and youth have a future worth staying for. The choice in this election is clear: Kent can remain trapped in cycles of ineffective leadership, rising crime, and lost economic opportunities, or it can choose Neet Grewal a leader who will fight for safer streets, a stronger economy, accountable government, and a brighter future for every resident. She is prepared to work tirelessly, challenge the status quo, and deliver results that truly reflect the needs and aspirations of the people. It’s time for fresh leadership, real action, and a renewed vision for Kent’s future. It’s time to Clean Up Kent and Neet Grewal is ready to lead the way.
