RENTON, WA – October 17, 2025 — A major drug trafficking ring operating in the Puget Sound region has been disrupted following a coordinated operation between the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and local police agencies, including the Renton Police Department.
Early Thursday morning, federal agents executed eight separate search warrants as part of a federal narcotics investigation. With the assistance of local law enforcement, seven individuals suspected of involvement in the trafficking operation were taken into custody.
Five of the warrants were served in Renton, while others were executed in Burien, Bellevue, and Seattle. The DEA requested the support of a marked Renton police unit during a warrant operation on the 19900 block of 101st Ave SE. The Renton officer provided visible presence and assisted in announcing the federal search warrant. Once the scene was secured by DEA agents, the officer returned to routine patrol duty.
Authorities believe this coordinated effort has dealt a significant blow to a regional narcotics trafficking network. Additional details about the suspects or the types and quantities of drugs involved have not yet been released.
The investigation is ongoing, and federal charges are expected to follow.
