SEATTLE, WA — A 51-year-old woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly assaulting both a Seattle Fire Department firefighter and a Seattle Police Department officer in the city’s Central District.
The incident occurred around 4:35 p.m. on October 23 in the 1400 block of South Weller Street, where officers responded to reports of a combative patient inside a medic van. Upon arrival, police found the woman inside the vehicle, yelling and throwing objects into the street.
According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), the woman punched a firefighter twice in the face and neck, causing minor injuries. When officers attempted to place her under arrest, she bit one of the officers on the hand, causing pain.
The suspect reportedly shouted bias and derogatory remarks at first responders and made repeated threats to harm officers. Police records indicate she “bragged about assaulting police and not getting charged.”
Following her arrest, the woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center for medical evaluation. Once discharged, she was booked into King County Jail for Assault in the Third Degree.
The Seattle Police Homicide and Assault Unit has been assigned to investigate the case.
