The City of Kent celebrated Arbor Day by recognizing the importance of trees and encouraging tree planting and care. At the recent Kent City Council meeting, Council President Kaur presented the Arbor Day proclamation.
The celebration highlighted the work of Kent’s Parks maintenance team and community partners, including Green Alliance, along with students and family members from Scenic Hill Elementary School and KSD Superintendent Valenzuela.
As part of the annual Arbor Day tradition, a tree will be planted at Scenic Hill Park on October 24. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to plant other trees and shrubs as part of the community event.
