Seattle, WA — Seattle police are investigating after a man arrived at Harborview Medical Center early Tuesday morning with a gunshot wound to the head.
According to the Seattle Police Department, hospital staff called 911 around 2:20 a.m. to report that a “walk-in gunshot wound victim” had entered the emergency room.
Police say the victim was driven to the hospital in a car with no license plates. An unidentified man who was driving the vehicle escorted the victim inside before leaving the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
The victim, who suffered a single gunshot wound behind his left ear, was listed in stable condition. He told investigators that the shooting occurred somewhere in Seattle but refused to provide the location.
Officers collected the victim’s clothing as evidence and notified detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU), who have taken over the investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips will also be accepted.
