USAArmed Felon Arrested During Narcotics Operation in Capitol Hill

Seattle, WASeattle police officers arrested an armed felon and his accomplice during a narcotics operation in the Capitol Hill neighborhood Friday afternoon.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers conducting surveillance near Broadway East and East Olive Way—an area designated as “SODA Zone 4”—witnessed a man engaging in multiple suspected drug transactions, according to police.

Investigators observed a 31-year-old man selling narcotics while a 20-year-old woman accepted cash payments on his behalf. An arrest team moved in and detained both suspects without incident.

During the arrest, officers recovered 10.3 grams of fentanyl, $455 in cash, a digital scale, plastic baggies, and a handgun.

Police say the male suspect, who was carrying the firearm, also had an active $10,000 felony warrant related to narcotics offenses. His previous felony convictions for drive-by shooting and assault prohibit him from legally possessing a firearm.

He was booked into the King County Jail for possession with intent to deliver synthetic narcotics and unlawful possession of a firearm. The 20-year-old woman was questioned and released from the East Precinct pending further investigation.

Detectives from the Seattle Police Department’s Narcotics Unit are continuing to investigate the case.
