City of Kent Encourages Residents to Recycle Styrofoam Responsibly

USACity of Kent Encourages Residents to Recycle Styrofoam Responsibly

Kent, WA — The City of Kent is reminding residents to properly dispose of Styrofoam and similar materials as part of its ongoing “Keep It Clean Kent” environmental campaign.

In a recent post, city officials encouraged residents to take Styrofoam to StyroRecycle, the state’s only dedicated Styrofoam recycling facility, conveniently located in Kent. Accepted items include #6 Styrofoam (clean, with no tape or stickers), packing peanuts, plastic bags or film, bubble wrap, and cardboard.

For those unable to visit StyroRecycle, the city advises that plastic foam should be placed in the regular garbage, as it cannot be processed through standard curbside recycling services.

Residents can find more information and recycling details at StyroRecycle.com.

This initiative is part of Kent’s broader effort to protect the environment and promote sustainable waste management across the community.
