SEATTLE — A restaurant fire in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood early Wednesday morning has been ruled accidental, according to Seattle Fire Department investigators.
At 3:27 a.m. on Nov. 13, the Seattle Fire Department’s Fire Alarm Center received multiple 911 calls reporting smoke coming from a restaurant located on the 7200 block of E. Green Lake Dr. N.
Firefighters arrived to find black smoke pouring from a second-floor window and flames visible on the roof. Crews entered the building and accessed the roof, discovering an active fire in the restaurant’s kitchen area. Initial assessments indicated the blaze had extended from the ground floor into the cockloft, a concealed void space between the ceiling and the roof where fires can spread quickly.
Despite the complexity of the fire, crews brought it under control within 30 minutes, and full extinguishment was achieved shortly after 4:30 a.m.
Fire investigators determined the cause to be accidental, likely the result of faulty electrical equipment.
No injuries were reported.
