SEATTLE — Ongoing construction on 6th Avenue is causing significant traffic slowdowns as crews continue work between Blanchard Street and Bell Street, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT).
A live traffic camera image from SDOT shows lane closures, construction barriers, and detour signs in place at the busy intersection of 6th Ave and Lenora St, where motorists are being redirected. Multiple cones and barricades have reduced available lanes, and flashing signals are directing drivers through the area with caution.
SDOT advises commuters to seek alternate routes to avoid delays, especially during peak travel hours. The construction work is expected to impact traffic flow through the evening, though no specific completion timeline has been announced.
Drivers are urged to remain alert for workers, equipment, and updated directional signs while passing through the construction zone. Pedestrians in the area are also encouraged to use marked detours for safety.
More updates will be provided as SDOT releases further information.
