USAKent Officials Take Oath Ahead of 2026 Council Term

KENT, Wash. — City leadership gathered this week as the City Clerk administered the oath of office to re-elected Mayor Dana Ralph, marking the start of a new four-year term beginning January 1, 2026.

Following her own swearing-in, Mayor Ralph then administered oaths of office to three council leaders: Councilmember-elect Sharn Shoker, re-elected Council President Satwinder Kaur, and Councilmember Toni Troutner. All three will also serve four-year terms on the Kent City Council.

Ceremonial photos show the officials signing documents, taking their oaths, and standing together inside the Kent Council Chambers.

The City of Kent invited residents to attend a ceremonial swearing-in and reception on January 6, 2026, during the upcoming council meeting.
