Kent, Ohio — The City of Kent has announced upcoming road closures related to the East Main Street construction project, according to a news release issued by the City of Kent Department of Public Service on January 2, 2026.
Beginning Wednesday, January 7, Horning Road will be closed between Theatre Drive and Loop Road. The closure will remain in effect until further notice as construction continues on the East Main Street project. During the closure, access to this section of Horning Road will be available via Loop Road.
In addition, Overlook Drive will be closed at East Main Street starting the same day. Motorists seeking access to Overlook Drive will be directed to use Woodhill Drive.
City officials advise drivers to plan alternate routes and expect delays in the area. Residents and commuters are encouraged to use caution and follow posted detour signs.
